How to live a fabulous life (on a budget)
I absolutely love nice things! But, I do not like paying full price. EVER.
And I love living my fab life here at the beach. But again, not at full price. I hear what other people pay and I am astounded!! $300 haircuts – nope! $500 outfits – nope!
If you like to do that – great! Go ahead. But I like saving my money as much as I can. Today I’m sharing a few of my secrets. Here’s a huge one – when you buy a home, buy the worst house in the best neighborhood. Seriously! That’s how I live 3 blocks from the beach! It’s all been redone now, except for the kitchen. Which has not only made it “ours” but saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars. Yes, you read that right!
Being willing to do a little extra yourself will frequently save you some cash. How do you save money? Leave me a message HERE and let me know!

“How to live a fabulous life on a budget” for women over 50
As women over 50, we’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years, but we may also face unique financial challenges. Retirement, fixed incomes, and unexpected expenses can make it challenging to live a fabulous life without breaking the bank. However, with a little creativity and some smart budgeting, you can still live a fabulous life on a budget. Here are some tips to get you started:
- Define Your Priorities – The first step to living a fabulous life on a budget is to define your priorities. What matters most to you? Is it travel, fashion, beauty, or entertainment? Once you know your priorities, you can focus your budget on the things that bring you the most joy.
- Set a Budget – Now that you know your priorities, it’s time to set a budget. Look at your income and expenses and determine how much you can realistically spend on the things you love. Be sure to factor in essentials like housing, food, and healthcare, but also leave room in your budget for fun and entertainment.
- Shop Smart – One of the best ways to live a fabulous life on a budget is to shop smart. Look for deals and discounts, shop at thrift stores and consignment shops, and use coupons whenever possible. You can still look and feel fabulous without spending a fortune on clothing and accessories. retailmenot.com ****
- Embrace DIY – Another way to save money is to embrace DIY. Make your own home decor, create your own skincare products, and even cook your own meals. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also feel a sense of pride in your creations.
- Take Advantage of Senior Discounts – As a woman over 50, you may be eligible for senior discounts. Many restaurants, movie theaters, and retailers offer discounts to seniors, so be sure to ask before making a purchase.
- Travel Smart – Travel is a wonderful way to experience new places and cultures, but it can also be expensive. To save money, look for travel deals and discounts, consider traveling during the off-season, and use rewards points to book flights and hotels. You can also consider alternative forms of travel, like road trips or train travel.
- Cultivate Friendships – Living a fabulous life isn’t just about material possessions. It’s also about cultivating meaningful relationships with family and friends. Instead of spending money on expensive outings, consider hosting a potluck dinner or a game night at home. You’ll save money and create lasting memories with the people you love.
In conclusion, living a fabulous life on a budget is all about making smart choices and prioritizing the things that matter most to you. By setting a budget, shopping smart, embracing DIY, taking advantage of senior discounts, traveling smart, and cultivating friendships, you can still live a fabulous life without breaking the bank. Remember, it’s not about how much money you have, it’s about how you choose to spend it.
