How to Enter the 50 Over 50 Podcaster Contest
Are you ready to be recognized as one of the 50 Over 50 Podcasters? Here’s everything you need to know to join this exciting contest and showcase your talent:
Step 1: Fill Out the Application
Complete the application form above by February 28, 2025
- The form will ask for basic details about you and your podcast, such as:
- Podcast name
- Brief description of your show
- A link to your Apple Podcasts profile or equivalent platform
Step 2: Submit a Video (Optional)
Want to earn extra points towards your score? Create a short video (up to three minutes) answering the following questions:
- Who are you?
- What is your podcast called?
- Why did you start your podcast?
- What are your goals and aspirations for your podcast?
Submitting this video to showcase (@) hardyhousemedia.com will earn you 10 bonus points and help the judges better understand your vision and passion for podcasting.
We encourage you to create the video so we can get to know your goals and aspirations more personally. Plus, you’ll have the option to have your video will be featured on the dedicated contest page on this website, giving you a chance to stand out and attract new listeners. (Alternatively, you can mark it to just be viewed by the judges and not displayed. You will still receive the 10 bonus points)
If making a video isn’t your thing, don’t worry—you’ll still be considered for the contest by submitting the application form.
Step 3: If You’re Selected as a Winner
Congratulations! If you’re chosen as one of the Top 50, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Record a 15-minute audio episode about yourself and your podcast.
- Share your story and what you do in an engaging way—but remember, no selling or promoting services/products. Instead, focus on connecting with the audience so they fall in love with you and want to click on the link of your choosing, where they can find out more about what you offer and have links to subscribe to your show.
- Submit your recording by March 31, 2025. Details will be sent to all winners
This episode will be featured on the award-winning Fabulous Over 50 podcast, with one winner highlighted each week throughout 2025!

HOW WE JUDGE the 50 Over 50 Podcaster Contest
Fairness in judging is our goal. To reach this we have 2 policies in place: 1. — no judge or sponsor, or relative of theirs, can be a nominee. 2.– Our judging guidelines are more objective than subjective, and a score will be calculated for each podcaster to create a numbered list of finalists.
Judging Parameters:
Content Quality (20%):
- Is the content engaging, informative, and entertaining?
- Does the podcast align with its stated goals or niche?
- Are episodes well-structured, with clear storytelling or informative delivery?
Production Quality (20%)
- Do you have quality sound, free of background noise, etc?
- Is there editing quality, free from plosives, too many filler words/um, etc.?
- If it is a video podcast, is it visually appealing?
Positive Messaging( 20%)
- It doesn’t have to be directly related to aging, but are you bringing positivity into the world and/or helping people?
Apple Podcast Rating (20%) (or equivalent if you’re not on Apple Podcasts)
- How well does the podcaster connect with their audience?
- Are there signs of a loyal and engaged listener base?
Consistency (20%)
- Is the podcast released on a regular schedule?
- Does the host demonstrate commitment to their craft?
